Susan Adler Davis is a 4th generation Baltimorean and has deep ties to the area. Her paintings reflect the history and significance of the landscapes and buildings she paints. Each tries to depict the essence of the subject matter.
Trained as a weaver at the Maryland Institute College of Art under Virginia West, she holds a BFA in Crafts with a minor in Art History. She also holds an MAT in Art Education from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
Susan started painting 6 years ago after retiring from the Baltimore County Public Schools. She works in acrylics, both on canvas and fabric, which she then quilts. She has studied locally at the Zoll Studio of Fine Arts under Bennett Vadnais as well as with David Lawton, Mike Bare and Rob Seifert. She also has taken workshops with Nationally known Plein Aire painters Kathleen Dunphy and David Lussier.
Susan’s work is currently shown at the Howard County Center for the Arts, The Night Owl as well as Tish Fine Art Plus in Chestertown, Maryland. She also showed at the Y Gallery in Baltimore.
